About Scholarships & Prizes

Engineers PEI presents scholarships to University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) engineering diploma graduates who are continuing their studies toward an engineering degree:

  • One scholarship to the student with the highest academic standing at the conclusion of the first year of the four year Sustainable Design Engineering degree program. It is valued at $500 and is awarded in the fall cycle.

 

  • The Richard George Matheson Memorial Engineering Scholarship awarded to the student entering the third year of the UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program with the highest academic standing in their second year.  The scholarship is valued at $1400 and is awarded in the fall cycle.

 

  • The Norman F. Stewart Engineering Scholarship awarded to the student entering the third year of the UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program with the second highest academic standing in their second year.  The scholarship is valued at $1200 and is awarded in the fall cycle.

 

  • The Laurie A. Coles Engineering Scholarship awarded to the student entering the third year of the UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program with the third highest academic standing in their second year. The scholarship is valued at $1100 and is awarded in the fall cycle.

 

  • The Glenda MacKinnon-Peters Engineering Scholarship awarded to a deserving (as evidenced by a letter of reference from a non-family individual) female student entering the first year of the four year UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program who graduated from a Prince Edward Island high school.  The scholarship is valued at $1500 and is awarded in the entrance cycle.

 

  • The Father Charlie MacDonald Engineering Scholarship awarded to a deserving (as evidenced by a letter of reference from a non-family individual) male student entering the first year of the four year UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program who graduated from a Prince Edward Island high school.  The scholarship is valued at $1500 and is  awarded in the entrance cycle.

 

  • Two awards will be granted to deserving students entering the first year of the four year UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program who have achieved high academic standing in secondary school but who have not qualified for any other major donor funded scholarship.  The scholarship is valued at $500 each and is awarded in the fall cycle.

 

  • Engineers PEI Graduating Student Award (minimum $1,000) will be granted to a graduating student from the UPEI Sustainable Design Engineering degree program who registers as an Engineer-in-Training in Prince Edward Island and who has maintained a high academic standing throughout their engineering studies. The successful recipient will be recommended by the Associate Dean of Engineering in consultation with faculty and will be approved by the Senate Scholarships and Awards Committee.

 

  • The TD Insurance Engineers PEI Indigenous Student Award (minimum $1,000) will be granted to an Indigenous student in any year of study in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering four-year program.  Preference will be given to entrance students.  If there are two or more equally qualifying students, the student in the greatest financial need will receive the award.  Student may receive this award more than once.
